Comedian and massive tech-nerd Aurie Styla returns with a second series of Tech Talk, looking at the way technology has shaped his journey through life, and what effect it's had on all of ours.
We got to know Aurie's journey through tech in series one, focusing on different stages of Aurie's life and how each period married with different stages of technology.
Now, this second series of Tech Talk sees Aurie expand on some of the types of technology he talked about, with him diving much deeper into the history and evolution of each of these tech devices that surround - and sometimes seem to completely dictate - our lives.
Did you know that the first commercially available mobile phone cost $4000 and had a battery life of half an hour? (It also took ten hours to re-charge; very disappointing if you woke up and found out you hadn't connected the wire properly.) Did you know that the first song every recorded on vinyl was Mary Had A Little Lamb? Or that if you grew up before colour TVs, your dreams would most commonly be in black and white?
With his freewheeling, hugely infectious crowd work and improv, Aurie takes the audience on a riotous nostalgia ride through the tech we’ve left behind… for better or worse.
