Our world is constantly changing, and changing fast.

In an era of hysterical headlines and unfiltered opinions, a new podcast will shed light on what scientific research has to say about the biggest issues facing humanity.

Presented by Professor Brian Cox, A Question of Science is a groundbreaking series of panel discussions where experts drawn from different fields respond to your questions, sharing the scientific perspective on society’s most pressing questions.

From curing cancer to the march of AI, climate change to facing the next pandemic, audience questions will fuel this 12-part series, recorded live at the Francis Crick Institute in London, one of the world’s biggest biomedical research labs.

NOW BOOKING:
Will we survive climate change? (Wednesday 18th June at 2.45pm)

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing society today, and as temperatures continue to rise, the question is no longer how to prevent it… but how we’ll live with it. Join Brian Cox and guests to consider what life will look like in a warming world.

Our panel of leading scientists will tackle your questions about what a climate-changed future might hold, from the viability of reaching Net Zero by 2050 and the role of renewables in reducing carbon emissions, to the strategies scientists say humans need to survive extreme weather events.

Is carbon capture technology a realistic solution for greenhouse gases? How will food security be affected by drought and storms? And what role can nature play in keeping our cities cool?

Send us your questions for our panel of experts. The best ones will be selected and help shape the discussion.

How can we harness AI for good? (Wednesday 18th June at 6.45pm)

Artificial Intelligence is already transforming society, from speeding up drug discovery and daily commutes, to influencing elections and sifting CVs to find the right job candidates. Our future appears very firmly rooted in AI - but how should we maximize its potential in a way that is best for humanity? And how can we predict the dangers of AI given so much of its development happens outside of public view.

Join Brian Cox and his panel of expert guests at the Francis Crick Institute as they delve into the transformative power of AI in relation to both science and society. What measures should we take to ensure data privacy? Will AI cause large scale job losses? How can we ensure ethical decision making in AI systems?

Send us your burning questions about the impact that AI does or will have on your life, on science, or on society as a whole. The best questions will be chosen (by a real person) and put to the experts.
